This program is designed as a real world event where images will be designed around predetermined vision, approach, lighting, concepts & styling.
The idea is to create a few GREAT photographic images vs a whole bunch of ok shots.

 

Everyone attending will work solo with every model in all three shooting areas.

Saturday - Lighting & Model demos

  • 9:00am - Coffee and introductions
  • 9:30am - Understanding light
  • 10:00am - Studio lighting Review: Topics covered
    • Hard vs soft, scrims & diffusion, panels
    • Understanding incident angles
    • Modifiers and how to use them
    • Understanding the reflected source
    • Ring flash - its broad creative power
    • Shooting outdoors with artificial light.
  • 11:00am - Planning the shot, getting the shot - think more, plan more, create more, and shoot less
  • 12:30pm - Discussion on preparedness through lunch - know your equipment
  • 1:00 - Continuation of the creative process - develop the idea
    • Working with Valerie and Meghan to style and design
    • Matching the lighting to the idea - setting the idea
    • Achieving concepts of creative involvement
  • 2:30 - Photogs shoot Valerie
    • With each look we create everyone works with Valerie
  • 5:00pm - End of first day
  
Sunday - Shooting
  • 9:00am - Coffee and Conversation with models
  • 10:00am - Shooting rotation begins
    • Three groups of two photographers
    • Shooting and assisting fundamentals put into action in the two studios and outside
    • Three full sessions, everyone shoots all models in every venue.
  • 5:30pm - Wrap and final Q&A
  • 6:00pm - End of program

6:30-9pm Finish-the-Image Workflow Intensive - An inside look at what is missing in most photos - how Robert makes an image POP, optimizing finished quality using Photoshop™: Digital darkroom techniques.
